The Centre for Medical Education in Context [CenMEDIC] is dedicated to using knowledge and skills to support the development of medical education that is sensitive to context and to local needs and conditions.
We believe in listening to colleagues, in sharing what we know, and ensuring that we help to catalyse effective and sustainable independent systems and processes that are tailored to the problem, the potential and the context.
OUR WORK
Our core work areas are focused on medical education and concentrate on:
- Sustainability - Leaving colleagues with the skills and knowledge to continue independently.
- Flexibility - Using our knowledge and experience to tailor original world-class solutions to problems identified locally.
- Sensitivity to Context - Ensuring that physical, economic and human resources, and cultural context are central to the work.
We undertake independent and collaborative project work and provide consultancy to other organisations, as a team or individually.
FAIMER Centre for Distance Learning
CenMEDIC incorporates The FAIMER Centre for Distance Learning, through which we present international distance learning modules on many aspects of medical education. These are designed to provide health professions educators with in-depth training through the convenience of on-line learning, and interaction with learning advisers and peers. The skills and knowledge acquired can help you advance health sciences education at your own institution to the highest international standards.
OUR METHODS
CenMEDIC aims to cover its cost and provide value for money in project and consultancy work We are happy to work in an advisory, training, developmental or research role to produce context-specific tailored analyses and plans in relation to problems or development needs. We have access to a network of skills and experience that we draw on to suit each specific requirement. We work collaboratively and are happy to take time to talk with you about your wishes before agreeing a concrete, budgeted joint plan.
